Maybe if you showed a specific example? I don't see that behavior in my own system. My simple test is this:

     <listitem><para>11111</para></listitem>
     <listitem><para>11111</para></listitem>
     <listitem><para>11111</para>
          <itemizedlist>
              <listitem><para>22222</para></listitem>
              <listitem><para>22222</para></listitem>
              <listitem><para>22222</para></listitem>
              <listitem><para>22222</para></listitem>
  &nb
 sp;       </itemizedlist>
     </listitem>
     <listitem><para>11111</para></listitem>
     <listitem><para>11111</para></listitem>
</itemizedlist>

Normally, I try not to use nested lists, because in my opinion, they are the wrong way to document but I like to know that they are supported at least down to two or three levels.
