I found Public Health Intelligence Network (GPHIN),
<http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/media/nr-rp/2004/2004_gphin-rmispbk_e.html>
also, http://www.psepc-sppcc.gc.ca/thm/em/index-en.asp,
http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/cepr-cmiu/ and contacted their communications
directors. I did not see any mention of commercial participation or
endorsement; can you direct me to those links? Does GPHIN use CAP, is it a
'competing' system, is it a standard?
I did come across CDC PHIN,
http://www.cdc.gov/phin/architecture/standards/Info_Dissemination_Alerting.h
tml. Do we have a contact there? They mention OASIS as a reference standards
org?
Also, I realize this is part of WHO, http://www.paho.org/, but we don't have
representation from this part of the world. Do we know someone at this org?
Thanks!

OK, Dee. Did you also follow up with the global express carriers? It
wasn't clear from your message.
Thanks

Thank you for the lead, I've followed up with the proper division and sent
an invitation. Elysa also has a Canadian contact that she has invited to
speak as well.

Thanks, Dee, for the program update.
I have read recently about the Canadian Global Public Health
Intelligence Network (which is supported by SUN among others) - gphin
- see www.phac-aspc.gc.ca. It has a significant role in public
warnings and alerts. I also heard that UPS also has a major interest
in alerts for disasters. I wonder if you think it would be worthwhile
drawing their attention to the joint Workshop? I imagine that Fedex
and DHL could also be interested.
Best regards,
Dr Carol
