One of the clearer explanations for lay people that I've encountered on
SOAP is Beno�t Marchal's "Soapbox: Why I'm using SOAP - One developer
tells why he's feeling sold on SOAP," (February 2001), at
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/x-soapbx1.html.  I
would've shared this with the Transport group, but they already know
what SOAP is since they're converting the Messaging Specs to use it.
