Since you start off by referring to my set of articles, please allow me to
clarify and add a few more words. I do not agree with the assertion that "ebXML
has failed"; it is an overstatement and is too general. I do feel that V 1.0
failed to meet the initial goals of interoperability and support for SMEs, but
that doesn't mean that it is a failure in general. In addition, there are
certainly opportunities in the ongoing work to address the V1.0 deficiencies and
better meet the primary goals. The last article in the series, due within a
couple of weeks, will suggest a few ideas in that direction.
