Good points - agreed - yes - people are adapting tools like Hermes/Jentrata to do what they need.
Better when the standard supports it - then everyone's systems in sync - but of course smaller communities in the meantime can position share tools - and then migrate to better position when available in mainstream.
"Pull" - OK yes this is pseudo pull - I send a message to the ebMS - of type release queue - and it will then send me the messages it has stacked in its send queue waiting for me. But wait that's how 'pull' works anyway - as you say ebMS3 has this - so you don't have to roll your own (even though its easy to do of course).

"Pull" with ebMS 2.0 would seem to be a proprietary extension to or deviation from the ebMS 2.0 standard, please explain how a conformant product would do this ...Compression based on attaching ZIP binaries: yes you can do compression outside the MSH without using a standard protocol. And while you're at it, you can also do signing, encryption, retries, duplicate elimination, packaging outside the MSH without using a standard protocol.
