Washington Post Article - Wireless Emergency Alerts

Please read the Washington Post article about the use of Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) in the California wild fires.

The County that used it had NO fatalities!  Not so for those surrounding counties that did not use WEA.  What can be done to better educate emergency managers about its use?  Does the uncertainty of evacuation routes paralyze them from issuing the WEA?

 

I hope to learn more about what can be done while attending the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) conference in November in Long Beach, CA.
