Meeting Tomorrow: Review CommonTypes candidates: Confidence-Certainty,Priority, Urgency, Severity.

Hi Folks,

    

    We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow. The PIN in the Calendar
    for the event should work. I think we should concentrate on the
    current set of candidates for the CommonTypes other than Estimate
    and Remarks which we know are set to be included.I'm copying
    Werner's table on their occurences, and I think we should also
    consider the logical consequences of the evolving EDXL model for
    these elements. I don't suggest we attempt to make a decision
    tomorrow but to look at them from as many viewpoints as we think are
    needed to give them a fair hearing. If we get through that, and
    approving previous meeting notes, we can move on to the samples Jeff
    sent us from CAP v1.2 wrt EDXL Data Model.

    

    I had hoped I would have had a chance to build the foundation for
    the logic of components I was hoping to, but unless I manage to roll
    out of the rack early tomorrow morning, that's unlikely.

    

    We should also use this as an opportunity to fine-tune the process
    Werner has laid out for this.

    So here are some interesting points/questions
    

    

    - "Priority" does not appear anywhere. Is "Priority" = "Urgency"? So
    should we rather consider adding "Urgency" to CommonTypes?
    

    - "Confidence" appears only in SitRep, as "ReportConfidence", so is
    "Confidence" = ReportConfidence? If not, why the urge to add it to
    CommonTypes
    

    - Is there any correlation between "Confidence" and "Certainty" -
    note that "Certainty" appears in the SitRep xsd, but not in the data
    dictionary
    

    - Although we have not talked about it yet, "Severity" has all the
    good signs for a CommonTypes candidate, just like "Urgency"
    

    

    Conclusion: before we proceed with adding any of these elements to
    CT, let's clarify their roles and mutual relationships, at least in
    the context of the documents reviewed.
