Thank you for your illuminating response. You have helped me to see the
broader implications of this issue. This list of requirements of what you
call "core services" will be quite interesting to see.
My question (and thus challenge) is being directed to OASIS Staff, and both
the IDtrust and Emergency Member Section Steering Committees to consider if
this (Identity and Trusted Infrastructure applied to Emergency systems) is
something worth spending time to address, and if so, what mechanisms (new
OASIS TC, Subcommittee to an existing TC, Joint Committee, Proof-of-Concept
project, Whitepaper, Interop Demo, Workshop, etc) might be employed to
further the dialog and eventual adoptable solution to this issue.
Is there a way we can more closely involve the Red Cross in these
discussions? At some point we will likely want to reach out to the
International Committee of Red Cross & Red Crescent for a broader
international support.
