Meeting Minutes

 

The purpose of the TC meetings,now that the subcommittees (SC) are in place, are to get updates from each SC and find out where the TC can help.

 

Notification, Methods and Messages

Update from Art Boterell, chair
  
Recommendation of Requirements document for CAP.  Referred to TC for   review/approval (whatever TC decides is required).  Would like   requirements document to become a TC document.  Allen stated   that document would come from SC but represent the TC.
  
Working on two other projects
      
ICS Forms
    
Incident Notification Messaging - information should be available this     week.

GIS

Update from Eliot Christian, Co-chair
  
Focusing on geometry aspect of CAP
  
Specific recommendation on how to do geometry
  
Look at CAP format: what has implicit assumptions and constraints must be   documented
  
Ambiguities are addressed in protocol
  
May be able to address optional parameters, such as elevation
  
Allen - can group make recommendations for transform   services?  The OpenGIS will be providing those

Infrastructure Framework

Gary Ham presented update
  
The group reviewed the types of items that are being considered
  
Most items being discussed already have other sponsors
  
A lot of discussion of data repository issues
  
No requirements document has been created - focusing more on enabling   capabilities
  
Gathering information to address issues
  
Eliot  noted that the eGov Infrastructure Group has a   discussion paper addressing semantic registry issues.
  
Art - reliability and security are issues that will connect with   our target audience
  
Rick - each member of the SC will bring an elemental standard to   next week's meeting.  Rick has developed a matrix that he will provide to   the TC.

Other Items

May 15 - 17: Partnership for Public Warning Conference

- will include workshop for CAP - currently scheduled for afternoon of 5/15

- $10 fee for exhibitor/workshops

Next Meeting

The TC meetings are now held ever other week.  The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th 10am PDT/1pm EDT.
