John and Ann,

 

The Conference Committee (Ken Klingenstein representing
Internet2, Tim Polk representing NIST, Kent Seamons – the program chair
designee, and myself) discussed this past year’s PKI R&D Workshop and
agreed that it should probably become more broadly-focused on IDTrust. 
Sound familiar?

 

That being said, it’s appropriate for the Federal PKI Policy
Authority (a/k/a NIH in this context) to bow out as a Sponsor.  Fed PKI
will continue to participate if invited, as one ID management scheme among
many.

 

Next year, the Workshop will be retitled to reflect the
expanded focus.  On behalf of the group, I’d like to invite the OASIS
IDTrust MS to pick up the mantle and become one of the three Sponsors.
