Hi everyone,
Do we want to begin to think about a venue
to do a public KMIP interop? RSA is even earlier this year, http://www.rsaconference.com/2011/usa/,
but it is the 20th anniversary.
Let me know what you think.
Best,
Dee

KMIP interop call 2010-10-07
Attending:
Mathias, Tim, Steve, Bruce, Alan
Recap
from f2f and implications for interop:
-No
intermediate release (v1.1), but all proposals currently circulating to be
included in v2.0 (target March 2011)
-Statements
of Use would require demonstration of interop, which in turn requires use cases
to be defined
-In
addition to this, use cases for existing features/profiles still missing and
work to rehash existing use cases still to be done
Next
steps, schedule:
-Need
to have both new use cases and implementations crisped up by the end of the
year if we want are targeting March/April for spec release
-Some
proposals/features more mature than others and which we could start working on
earlier (namely asymmetric profiles)
-Storage
clients profile use cases could be picked from v1.0 use cases, Gordon and
Bruce, Mathias, Stan to work on this - the original deadline was the storage
developers conference a week before the f2f,, no new known deadline for now
-Mathias
to draw up a draft proposal on how to proceed, to be discussed on next week's
call
