Notes from KMIP interop call, December 16
We need to begin meeting in earnest beginning
January. If we meet every week, that will be 6 calls before RSA. The following
companies have committed;

Cryptosoft, Emulex, IBM, SafeNet, EMC/RSA,
and HP. I am speaking with a few more vendors that are considering
participation. I need a technical and marketing lead from each company –
we will be issuing a press release.

I look forward to another successful
Interop!

Happy Holidays,

dee

Subject: [kmip-interop-tech] Notes
from KMIP interop call, December 16

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here are my summary notes from yesterday's interop call. Please let me know of
any additions/corrections you might have.

This
was the last call for 2010 - the KMIP interop calls will resume in the first
week of January 2011.

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year,

Mathias

KMIP interop 2010-12-16

Attending:
Mathias, Alan, Tim

Discussion
mainly on what functionality to demo at RSA 2011 and what to show from a UI
perspective. Some ideas for more real world use cases:

-Create
a key on a KMIP server from one machine and use this key to encrypt some data
on a USB stick, transfer the USB stick to another machine, use KMIP to get the
key from the server and decrypt the data

-More
simple demo could be showing that the same key can be accessed from multiple
clients, one client changes an attribute and the change shows up for another
client. Also change state, usage allocation.

-Demo
asymmetric use cases, e.g. certificates that show something else than the 'K'
from KMIP.

Regarding
RSA logistic, Alan said he would look into bringing a network switch to the
booth.
