Interop - non-permissible changes
Hi Folks, I've had some folks query me about some of the changes being made to credentials and Test Sheets outside the Connectivity Test Period. Based principally on sections 5.2.1, 5.3.3 and 9.1.1 of the approved Interop Process, the only credentials and Test Sheets that may be used during the Interop Test Period are those issued prior to the end of the Connectivity Test Period. This requirement is used to ensure fair and equitable circumstances for all parties without requiring extra work (for changed Test Sheets) or allowing extra time (to generate changed Test Sheets), or requiring implementations to update credentials when the focus should be on the testing. I understand that for those running implementations for the first time (there are a few of you), this can be a little daunting but years of experience (and in some cases undue pain and effort) have led us to a process with well-defined and enforced deadlines. Naturally we as a group have the ability to modify part of the process via a Special Majority Vote and if any Interop Participant seeks to make a change to the deadline for setting credentials or test sheets (essentially extending the Connectivity Test Period), they are welcome to request such a vote per the TC Process. In this matter, the request to raise a Special Majority Vote should be worded in the form of a motion and should be sent to the kmip-interop-tech email list. In this case the following text from Section 4 will apply: Interop Special Majority Vote – A Special Majority Vote run as an electronic ballot by the OASIS TC Administrator. Such vote is held in accordance with the OASIS TC Process except that there shall be one vote per Interop Participant and the ballots may be closed by TC Admin after all Interop Participants have voted or after no less than three days, whichever occurs first. Please be aware that if we extend the Connectivity Test Period, we will likely need to extend the Interop Test Period as well to ensure everyone has the same chance to make changes, not to mention the fact that the Vote may take up to 3 days to close, leaving us with less than a day to complete the testing. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. -- 2017-02-24T20:38:00Z 1 19 191 1 1 209 14.00 X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Tony Cox VP Partners, Alliances & Standards Cryptsoft P: +61 7 3103 0321, US: +1 (650) 918 4307
