KMIP Interop Meeting #3
Hi Folks,
Just a reminder that we have another meeting this week. We have
had some shifts in daylight savings so please double check you
calendar invitations for the correct time.
A reminder that attendance at this meeting is mandatory (for at
leas one member from each organization).
A rough agenda includes:
- Status update from all participants
- Review meeting time & schedule
- Test scope including client/server mismatches and
reconfiguration
- Implementation naming
By now, all clients and servers should completed connectivity
testing as we are midway through the week (depending on timezone).
Unfortunately though I am getting some sporadic status updates
indicating that servers have still not issued credentials and that
some tests are still outstanding.
Please be aware that any implementation that does not achieve
connectivity suitable for a KMIP transaction with every other
implementation (each client with all servers, and each server with
all clients) will be disqualified from  further participation. For
any participant only running a single implementation, this will
mean disqualification from the remainder of the event (including
the booth). I cannot stress enough how important it is to complete
this connectivity test in the time allotted in the process, as we
do not want to see any disqualifications here. Please remember
that the technical bar is set very low here - run a single TTLV
operation between each implementation and you're good to go.
The same low bar is set for the interop test next week - a single
TTLV test case (most folks agree the Tape Library Profile test
cases are very simple) will ensure you meet the technical
requirements.
You should also be well on the way to having a complete set of
test sheets to run with. Whilst we haven't hit the deadline for
distribution of these yet, we don't want these left to the last
minute. Please remember that distribution of your test sheets is a
criteria for successfully completing the Connectivity Test.
As always please contact me directly if you have any questions or
concerns - don't leave it to the last minute!
Thanks folks.
