OASIS IDtrust Member Section Steering Committee Nominations Extended to 30 July 2010!
OASIS members:

Two seats serving two-year terms on the OASIS Identity
and Trusted

Infrastructure (IDtrust) Member Section (MS) Steering
Committee [1] are

open for nomination recommendations. Any IDtrust MS
participant may

nominate or be nominated as a candidate for the
Steering Committee.  If

you aren't currently active in the IDtrust Member
Section, now is a

great time to join [2]. The process to join is simple
but it must be

 completed during the nomination period.

The IDtrust Steering Committee provides guidance to
help the Member

Section achieve its goal of promoting greater
understanding and

adoption of standards-based identity and trusted
infrastructure technologies,

policies, and practices. The nomination and election
procedures for the

Steering Committee are defined by the OASIS Member
Section Policy [3]

and the IDtrust Member Section Rules of Procedure
[4].

Each IDtrust MS Supporting Entity has one Qualified
Elector who casts

the single vote on behalf of his/her
organization. Unless otherwise

 designated, the organization's Primary Representative
serves as the

 Qualified Elector.

The Primary Rep may defer the voting member role to
another employee

 member by sending an email to ;
any such

change should be in place before the ballot is cast.

 NOMINATION & ELECTION SCHEDULE

Nominations will be held 11 June - 30 July 2010.

The election will be held 2 August- 17 August 2010.

 NOMINATION PROCESS

Any IDtrust MS participant may nominate a candidate
via email to:

Prior to being confirmed as a candidate, each nominee
must:

 1. Accept the nomination

 2. Confirm his/her ability to meet the time
commitments of the position

(participation in a one hour teleconference each
month, promote the

work of the Member Section, additional outreach
activities as needed);

 3. Provide background information and a position
statement describing

his/her qualifications and motivations for serving on
the Steering

 Committee; and

 4. Be a participant in the IDtrust Member Section.

 ELECTION PROCESS

The two new Steering Committee members will be
selected by the MS

Qualified Electors, using the Single Transferable
Voting (STV) process

 -

Scottish  Method [6]. STV considers each voter's
ranked preference for

candidates, in order to more accurately reflect the
wishes of the

electorate. Results will be announced immediately
after they are

 tabulated

 and confirmed.

We encourage all IDtrust MS participants to consider
serving on the

 Steering Committee. Please contact ()

 with

any questions you might have regarding this process.
