Hi Bob,

It's up to the TC - some appoint editors, some vote for
them. I think a simple "is there anyone who would like to volunteer as
spec editor?" and "is there any objection to [name(s)] becoming an
editor(s) for the [spectitle] specification?" would work just fine.
There's no limit as to the number of editors allowed so whatever the TC feels
is appropriate works.

Hi Mathias -

I think we voted on editors, as well as co-chairs, at the kmip meeting in april
2009. So I think we need to vote on Tim as new co-editorm

Mary, is that correct? Or is no vote needed?

Regards

Bob

Hi Bob,
Subhash,

Since Rene will
not contribute as co-editor of the KMIP Use Cases document anymore, we thought
it would make sense to look for another co-editor.

I checked with
Tim informally and he would be willing to volunteer. I suppose there is some
kind of process we need to follow to elect a new co-editor, and we should also
give a chance to other people to express their interest in the co-editorship.

If there are
many steps involved, it would be good to get the ball rolling as soon as
possible. Would it make sense to include an agenda item for this for this
week's TC call?

Regards,

Mathias
