Members of the KMIP TC,Â

Congratulations. Your Special Majority Vote to approve the KMIP 2.0 Spec and Profiles as Candidate OASIS Standards has passed. TC Admin will now publish the COSs and announce the 60-day review period. TC Admin JIRA ticketsÂhttps://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TCADMIN-3534ÂandÂhttps://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TCADMIN-3535Âhave been opened to track this work.Â

As always, feel free to ping me with any questions. We'll let you know when we are working on the COSs.Â

Again, our congrats. This is a big step for your work.Â

Best regards,Â

Description

The Key Management Interoperability Protocol Specification Version 2.0 [1] was approved as a Committee Specification on 12 June 2019. The Key Management Interoperability Protocol Profiles Version 2.0 [2]was approved as a Committee Specification on 12 June 2019.

The TC received 3 Statements of Use for each CS from Cryptsoft, P6R, and Semper Fortis Solutions[3]. Do you now approve submitting these Committee Specifications to the OASIS membership for consideration as a Candidate OASIS Standard?

Approving this ballot will result in a 60-day public review after which, if no comments are received, the COS will be submitted to a membership-wide ballot. If comments are received, the TC will be asked to vote by Special Majority Ballot on whether to continue to the membership vote. This is explained in TC Process section 3.4.2, Public Review of a Candidate OASIS Standard [4].

This ballot requires a Special Majority Vote [5]. The TC roster currently lists 19 voting members. In order to pass, at least 13 (2/3 x 14) members have to vote Yes and no more than 4 (1/4 x 14) members may vote No.
