Colleagues:  Please find below the rooms at MIT where we will meet,
URLs for maps showing where those buildings are located in Cambridge (there
is an underscore before the number at the end of each URL), and a list
of less expensive hotels and motels in the Boston area.  You will
note that we will be meeting in different rooms on different days. 
On Thursday we will meet in one room in the morning and in another in the
afternoon.  However, the maps show that the buildings are all clustered
in the same general area.  We are indebted to Dan Greenwood for getting
us the rooms at no charge.
Please send me an email (at , not on the TC list) to
let me know whether you are planning to attend in person or by phone or
not at all.  I already have messages from some of you.  You need
not repeat yourself if you have already notified me.
We have a lot of challenging matters to deal with in Boston, as shown
on the agenda I circulated last weekend.  I hope to see many of you
at MIT in a couple of weeks.

Lodging Options
Dr. Leff and Robin Gibson have made inquires regarding Boston hotels. 
Here are the options they found:
1)  Bed and Breakfast Bay Colony has rooms available from $85.00
to
$250.00. Members should go to their web site at www.bnbboston.com or
call
them at 888 486 6018.
2)  Bed and Breakfast Reservations has rooms from $115.00 to $175.00. 
On
the phone, they  mentioned that some are on Massachusetts Avenue,
a short bus ride from MIT. Members should call them at 800 832 2632 or
check out
http://www.bbreserve.com
3)  We may be able to reserve some rooms at the Anchor Hotel using
a
wholesaler, which is a short distance from the Logan Airport. 
They could
cost as little as $99.95 a piece.  In this case, the rates might
go up as
our members reserve them.
4)  The hostel at 12 Hemenway on the Back Bay has several beds
available in
shared rooms at about $32.00 per night. Their reservation number is
617 536
9455 or 617 536 1027. Or they can use the web site:

5)  Abercrombie's Farrington Inn on 23 Farrington Avenue in Allston
has a
few rooms at $89.95 or under. People can call 617 787 1860 to reserve
them.
Additional lodging options in Boston's suburbs:  Hopefully,
none of our members will be forced to stay that far.
6)  Motel 6 Boston South Braintree.  This is $80.00 per night. 
They have
rooms available and they are right next to the Boston Subway ("T")
Red-line.  Their phone number is 781 848 7890, or members can
use
motel6.com
7)  Motel Six Framingham This is $60.00 per night.  They
have rooms
available.  Their number is 508 620 0500 or use the internet at
motel6.com
This is about two miles from the commuter railroad station.  The
Railroad
runs from 06:15 in the morning (into Boston)
until about midnight (returning).  Members can take a Framingham
bus (Lift #7) to the station.  It goes right by the Motel at 07:00. 
The Framingham transit office told me that one should "flag down the bus"
and pick up a bus schedule at the train station.
The Framingham transit information number is 508 620 4823.  Returning,
the
bus leaves the train station every hour on the half hour up to 21:30.
8)  The Amsterdammertje Bed and Breakfast is located in Quincy,
a suburb
south of Boston.  Their cost is slightly over $100.00 per night. 
The
proprietor tells me that there is a bus that takes one to the Red line. 
It
starts each morning at about 05:30.  Their number is (617) 471-8454. 
The
proprietor says the best times to call him are 0800 or 2000 Boston
time.
They require two days minimum stay and that their guests do not smoke.
Note, the Boston ("T") Red line takes one to MIT, Harvard, and many
other
prime Boston locations. Members needing information on Boston public
