Stanford initiative

Dear collegues,


tomorrow I will travel to Lima for a conference in the Senate of Perù
so I am not available for the usual conference meeting because I will
arrive in Lima at 7.00 pm.


I beg your pardon.


In the meantime I would like to provide you a little update concerning
the OASIS intiative for promoting the LegalXML working groups and
outcomes.


A) RuleML asked to OASIS to have a keynote speaker and also to have an
Industry for the "Industry Panel". The costs are in charge to OASIS but
this is a real opportunity for some exper of the OASIS working groups
to present the outcomes. The Industry Panel is in conjunction with
Business Rule Forum, so the attendance expected are about 200 people.


B) Stanford, in the person of the responsable of the Law, Science and
Technology Research Programme send me this message for the LegaXml
Steering Committee:



<<CodeX – The Stanford Center for Computers and Law (http://codex.stanford.edu)
has offered to host an evening panel in the fall quarter of 2010
addressing the role of legal information standards and current OASIS’
initiatives in this realm. The format of the event would be a 1.5-2hrs
panel discussion preceded by a reception. The events hosted by CodeX
and the Stanford Program in Law, Science and Technology typically
attract diverse audiences consisting of Silicon Valley technology
industry representatives, legal practitioners, students and academics.
Attendance typically ranges between 80-200 people. 
 
I
would hereby like to kindly ask OASIS to nominate two experts from the
LegalXML working group (one expert in eNotarization/or eGov and one in
eCourt)
and to support their travel costs. Stanford will provide room as well
as logistical support free of charge. We would, however, welcome OASIS
sponsorship of the event in the amount of $3,000 for covering expenses
for the reception.>>




I think that both are a good occasions for promoting the findings of
LegalXML to a large panel of people.

are really welcome.
