Fwd: Email sent to voters re: [legalxml-sc] Groups - Ballot closed: "Approve Litigant Portal (LP) TC affiliation with the Member Section"
Members of the LP TC and the LegalXML Member Section,

The ballot below has passed. The LP TC is now officially affiliated with the LegalXML Member Section. I will take the appropriate steps to update the respective pages. Members of the LP TC, you will need to elect a representative from the TC to the Member Section at your earliest convenience.

Best regards,

/chet

Description

The Litigant Portal (LP) TC has requested affiliation with the LegalXML Member Section [2]. Per the OASIS Member Section Policy, section 6, this request must be approved by the Member Section Steering Committee.

The TC chartered with the Non-Assertion Mode of the OASIS IPR Policy rather than with RF on Limited Terms Mode which is currently required by the Member Section Rules of Procedure. Non-Assertion is considered a more open, less restrictive mode than RF on Limited Terms and was not in existence when the MS was formed. Approving the TC's request to affiliate also approves waiving the requirement for RF on Limited Terms Mode.

This ballot requires a Special Majority Vote [3]. The Steering Committee roster currently lists 4 voting members. In order to pass, at least 3 members have to vote Yes and only 1 may vote No.
