Yup. Very familiar with those limitations.  But you'd be surprised what you can do with just a TCP stack!  Even in those cases, OTA or other file/blob transfers are often needed.

First, the transmission of large messages ties up the network connection for a considerable time, potentially blocking smaller messages.
