At our last oBIX
meeting, we discussed how oBIX might develop to interact with / nestle in
NBIMS. The primary technical authors have been writing off NBIMS as “just
the physical design of the building”. I went through some Energy model
scenarios, discussed common Energy Model from Design to Commission to
Operations, and aligning tags/system models. I pitched COBIE…

 

The long and short
of it is the primary technical writers asked for a teleconference some time to
learn more about NBIMS and how oBIX might interact with it. To me, it’s
an easy fit. Mu co-chair, Paul Ehrlich described NBIMS as “potentially
the Killer App for enterprise access to control systems” Still we need to
expand the buy-in among the committee.

 

Are there a few
NBIMS stalwarts who would be interested in participating in this phone call?
Not sure if this should be through an official Outreach committee, or…
