Minutes for July oBIX meeting
Minutes for July oBIX meeting This meeting was sparsely attended, but did include the core group of the previous XML team. They agreed to start working on 1.1 and we discussed the agenda for 1.1 The goals of 1.1. are: 1) Small ambiguities in the original document have been discovered by those writing oBIX implementations. Compliance language will be strengthened and options reduced. 2) Some sort of RSS/Atom binding will be defined for an oBIX server. 3) Users will be able to invoke oBIX by sending an ICAL message (room occupied, Tuesday, 3-4). An iCAL binding has certain implications for service definition beyond those implied by a point server. Those implications will be fleshed out. Members implementing oBIX for their customers were asked to report back so committee members would understand the current state of adoption. "It is the theory that decides what can be observed." - Albert Einstein Toby Considine Chair, OASIS oBIX TC Facilities Technology Office University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, NC Email: Toby.Considine@ unc.edu Phone: (919)962-9073 http://www.oasis-open.org
