RE: [odata] FW: Revisit OData Principles
Hi John,

Good advice! I feel that we are starting to slip on

OData Services are Client-Focused. OData prefers to push complexity to the service, allowing the service modeler to define the interesting
views of data that a client may consume through simple, common operations, rather than force the client to build complex queries against raw data.

For the delta case the “raw data” is not only the data on the server, it is also the “offline” data the client wants to maintain with the delta response.

Thanks!

Subject: [odata] FW: Revisit OData Principles

Hi Matt and Hubert, I enjoyed the discussion yesterday on where to put the intelligence for the handling of the parsing/ referential problem.  I have a suggestion that at some point we revisit the original design
principles and either reaffirm or reject them.  Perhaps in the year and half the intent may have changed.

John
