Hmm, I think we discussed and agreed on these things about a year ago. We can re-open the issues, of course.

But I believe nearly all the spreadsheet apps computed -2^2 as 4, and 2^3^4 as (2^3)^4.  I'll redo those calculations on a large number of different apps, so we can at least see who does what.  Actual data (instead of guessing) is a good thing methinks.  At least it'll give us something specific to discuss.

I think the general majority should rule here.
