Universal currency symbol?

Greetings!

I am catching up on entering changes into JIRA and noticed that on 
Office-1103, Rob says:

> (Note that we should use the universal currency symbol '¤' (U+00A4) 
> instead of writing "currency units" 

Not critical to this edit but it does occur a number of times in the text.

Wanted to ask before I do a global find/replace. Any comments?
