Thanks for taking the initiative on behalf of the Open CSA
Member Section to compile the list of potential Java One sessions. I am assuming
that your intention here was to arrive at a general (independent
of which company is presenting) list of the SCA/SDO session proposals that
would be relevant to the JavaOne audience. I am guessing that after
deciding upon a good list of proposals, we will have to work out the
logistics of which companies would make the submissions, and who will be
the proposed speakers, etc. With that, I would like to make the following
suggestions:
a> Instead of having two sessions (2b and 3b) on
security, transactions, etc, perhaps we
should submit a single proposal for a tent session to cover the policy
framework and its usage to simplify the infrastructure related to security,
transactions and reliable messaging
b> Instead of having two sessions (2d and 3c) on
the SCA Bindings, perhaps we should submit
a single proposal for a tent session to cover all the bindings
together. I think that a single session would
have the advantage of better emphasizing how SCA simplifies consumption of
different communication infrastructure via a common
abstraction.
c> I wonder if
there is enough common understanding among the SCA community on the topic of AJAX/Web20/SCA in order to
propose a JavaOne session this year. I think it is premature
to propose the session 2c. Perhaps
conducting a BOF session might be a good idea
here.
Also ...
d> Add a session on SCA and Java EE
Integration. AFAICT, a session on this topic
during the last JavaOne was well received and I am guessing that the audience
would be interested in learning the status/advancements in this
area.
e> Add a session on SCA and Enterprise Service Bus,
related use cases, benefits, etc.
We (SAP) would like to submit corresponding
proposals for the two topics mentioned
above.

simple way: worked example of a Web services application using SCA
- A more practical session showing the
building a Web services application using SCA, with
the application both providing a Web service and also
using Web services

Handling data in Service-Oriented applications: Service Data Objects
- A discussion of SDO in general
2f) Building Business Processes: BPEL
and SCA - the simple approach to sequence and structure.
- A discussion of the happy combination of SCA and BPEL
in building business solutions - with
a worked example.
