Business Enquiry from www.osoa.org web site
Dear Steering Committee

Wearing my "OSOA" hat, I answered
this incoming enquiry, but I also agreed with the raiser that I would put
it into the OASIS circle also. I'll put on the Steering Committee agenda
for Friday, although any individual is welcome to contact him if interested.

Graham J Barber,

OASIS OpenCSA Steering Committee Secretary & Vice-Chair,

Program Director, SOA Partnerships, IBM Corporation.

Hello,

first of all congratulations for the good work done so far in the SCA and

SDO specs.

In our daily work we see a strong need for programming models leveraging

the SOA principles and so we believe SCA and SDO to be one of the coming

technologies to consider. Because of the current lack of literature

explaining the principles behind and the use of these two standards (and

their current implementations) we are considering to write a book

ourselves.

We have done so in the past in exploring the world of MDA (R飆tgers,

Pieper: MDA, Springer 2006) which to date is only available in German.

Having made this experience before we know that writing something about
a

standard is only possible if support and latest (insider) information from

the standardizing committee is available and granted.

Considering a Go/No-Go we have the following questions:

- Does OSOA support this kind of "external" literature?

- If so, which information and personal support could you (would you)

offer?

- Are there already other publications underway of which you know?

- Which publisher would you recommend?

- Who is the direct contact for this type of questions?

The focus of our work is not the profit but help in our daily work with

this

new technology for us and our clients. Strong focus would be in the OSS

implementations. If supported we would like to open all chapters for public

review before going to print to give the most coherent and complete

information possible.

If you have further questions please don't hesitate to contact us:

    OR

Thank you in advance and best regards,

 Daniel, Carsten
