OASIS IDtrust Member Section Steering Committee Nominations Now Open
OASIS members:
Three seats serving two-year terms on the OASIS Identity and Trusted  Infrastructure (IDtrust)

Member Section (MS)

Steering Committee [1] are  open for nomination recommendations. Any IDtrust MS participant may  nominate or be nominated as a candidate for the Steering Committee.  If  you aren't currently active in the IDtrust Member Section, now is a  great time to join [2]. The process to join is simple but it must be  completed during the nomination period.
The IDtrust Steering Committee provides guidance to help the Member  Section achieve its goal of promoting greater understanding and  adoption of standards-based identity and trusted infrastructure technologies,  policies, and practices.
The nomination and election procedures for the  Steering Committee are defined by the OASIS Member Section Policy [3]  and the IDtrust Member Section Rules of Procedure [4].
Each IDtrust MS Supporting Entity has one Qualified Elector who casts  the single vote on behalf of his/her organization. Unless otherwise  designated, the organization's Primary Representative serves as the  Qualified Elector. The Primary Rep may defer the voting member role to another
employee member by sending an email to ; any such  change should be in place before the ballot is cast.
NOMINATION & ELECTION SCHEDULE
Nominations will be held 11 July - 1 August 2011
The election will be held 2 August - 16 August 2011
NOMINATION PROCESS
Any IDtrust MS participant may nominate a candidate via email to:

Prior to being confirmed as a candidate, each nominee must:
1. Accept the nomination
2. Confirm his/her ability to meet the time commitments of the position  (participation in a one hour teleconference each month, promote the  work of the Member Section, additional outreach activities as needed);
3. Provide background information and a position statement describing  his/her qualifications and motivations for serving on the Steering  Committee; and
4. Be a participant in the IDtrust Member Section.
ELECTION PROCESS
The two new Steering Committee members will be selected by the MS  Qualified Electors, using the Single Transferable Voting (STV) process  -  Scottish  Method [6]. STV considers each voter's ranked preference for  candidates, in order to more accurately reflect the wishes of the  electorate. Results will be announced immediately after they are  tabulated and confirmed.
