I would say that it might be better to rely on restrictions, not on the
smart inference rules. So my answer to your question is to make it
dumber :-)


But my knowledge to matters like type-equality testing is quite limited,
and I am not sure (or I don't know) how such inference
rules/restrictions interplay with such algorithms...
