I've solved one mystery. If someone send an e-mail to

 but with several strange headers.

I am unable to understand what this '-' means. My guess is that 

L - X  :=  { s | s=replace(t,X), t \in L }

function replace(string t,regexp X) {
  while( X.matches(t) )
    remove matches substring from t;
  return t;
}

Mmmm, more examples would certainly help.
