Yep, roughly correct. xsd:ID is defined as an NCName (non-'colonized'
name), which the Namespaces in XML spec defines thusly:
[4] NCName ::= (Letter | '_') (NCNameChar)* /* An XML Name, minus
the ":" */
[5] NCNameChar ::= Letter | Digit | '.' | '-' | '_' | CombiningChar |
