AuthnRequest or AuthnQuery

I'm not sure which one I should use in this case :

A SP send an AuthnRequest to an IDP an get an authentication assertion

Later the same SP needs to get another assertion for this user with another type of Id (a persistent one for federation for example)

So the SP ask the IDP for it : should it use an authnRequest or an authnQuery ?
