Ideally would not like to restrict the target audience. But practically, target applications would be commercial SaaS applications.

If possible can you please provide some examples of such applications and the authentication requirements. So we might consider implementing stronger/other authentication mechanisms in the future to support these use-case.

Define "such applications". Your question is simply too broad. You have to
address the audience of applications you're trying to serve.
