Instructions on making Comments on OASIS smart grid Charters in formation

I sent this out this evening in response
to requests on how to comment on charters for new smart grid related
committees. I do not need to tell folks receiving this how to subscribe to
smart-grid interest, but you may have friends you want to forward this to.

Like everyone in this process, OASIS is working to find open
ways to collaborate at double time for smart grid issues.

 

Normally, new Technical Committees are discussed on the
mailing list oasis-charter-discuss which is open to all members. Because
of the fast pace of all smart grid related standards and the desire to be open
to members of other standards development organizations (SDOs) we needed to
develop another approach that would not violate our process but that was open
to outside input.

 

As part of this, we created the open list
smartgrid-interest. You need not be a member of OASIS to joint smart-grid
interest. Go to the OASIS home page (www.oasis-open.org).
Select subscriptions from the menu (lower left hand corner). You will be asked
to enter your email address and then be shown a list of mailing lists you can
subscribe too. Select smart-grid-interest. You will then receive the usual
email asking you to click here to confirm your subscription. That’s all.

 

Once you are a member, you can submit email to the list. All
submissions to the list are instantly publicly archived. You can submit
comments on smart-grid related committees and charters on this list.

 

To comment on new smart grid charters, please mention the
charter in the subject line. I recommend you use something similar to
“Comment on EMIX Charter”. We will forward all comments received in
this way to the internal list (which is also publicly archived). In this way,
if you are planning to join OASIS to participate, but are awaiting approvals,
or simply want to comment, you can participate in the process.
