Jeff,

Yes, this makes sense because you pick or design your viewpoint to satisfy what the view is supposed to cover.  If you need another viewpoint, you are defining another view.  OTOH, I could pick a bunch of DODAF artifacts as my viewpoint and, if it works, it is certainly reusable.

I would only add that although the relationship between views and viewpoints (within a given architectural description) is one-to-one, as noted in the 1471, a view should correspond to only one viewpoint, otherwise it is considered redundant.  A viewpoint, on the other hand, can have more than one view.  This is analogous to the class : object relationship in OO parlance, but I wouldn't take that analogy too far.
