Section 3 - latest draft

Hi:

Based on the revisions that Chris and I have done, hopefully in line with the directions from the TC, I attach a relatively clean version of Section 3.

 

I have left the main edits in place, but removed and hidden some of the more typo and editorial clean up. There are a few minor points remaining and some marginal comments, to which we still invite reply, but hopefully the main body is in line with expectations.
