Ok, OK, more attention cycles needed on my part, clearly.

Can I re-sit the exam please, teach’ ?

I didn’t know there was an exam. But yes, confusion arises quickly on the TC process steps taken / to take when just browsing
 through emails.

You’ve just failed your TC Process exam…….     The ballot we’ve just concluded was to agree to ask Chet to run this formal approval
 ballot.  Seems a bit over the top but that’s what the good TC Handbook says we must do…-)

I thought that we had just conducted this ballot, no? And the result was to move to a candidate standard in which, presumably, we need
 to add the (minimum three) conformance statements that we have received so that it can be included in the final document to be put to the membership ballot as a full standard?

Or am I missing something (more than the cycles needed to look through this in more detail)
