RE: [trans-ws] Charter
You can always use a get-out-of-jail
clause like "...including but not limited to..."

Translation Web Services defines how a customer can
submit localization

tasks to a supplier using Web Services. Localization is the process of

adapting electronic material from its home market
form for any given

non-source markets.

Localization tasks include but are not limited to

translation from one language into other languages, software engineering,

testing, desktop publishing, linguistic review, screen
shooting,

voice overs etc.

RE: [trans-ws] Charter

Hi Andrzej,

Thanks for sending this. My view is that once you get into defining this

you get into problems with what is in and not in the list. I think we do

not have to define it as part of the charter but am open to doing it as

you suggested if the rest of the team agrees.

I would like us to have the charter ready for a ballot by our next

meeting so would appreciate comments on this.

Thanks,

Peter.

Hi Peter,

I think we need to define a localization task within Translation Web

Services:

Translation Web Services defines how a customer can submit localization

tasks to a supplier using Web Services. Localization tasks encompass

both translation from one language into other languages as well as any

any tasks that are required to adapt electronic material for a given non

source market, such as testing, screen shots, voice overs etc.

AZ
