Title: Submission for Standardization Consideration by OASIS Board: UDDI Version 2 Specifications

As a result of a unanimous vote of the UDDI Spec Technical Committee conducted on 13 September 2002 as recorded in the minutes of the meeting (http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/uddi-spec/200209/msg00025.html), the co-chairs hereby submit the set of UDDI V2 Committee Specifications for consideration as an OASIS Standard. 

In accordance with the process stipulated in Section 2 of the OASIS Technical Committee Process, the TC has published: 

A formal specification that is a valid member of its type

Appropriate documentation for the specification

A clear English-language summary of the specification

This material, in the currently-recommended OASIS format, is available on the TC web site along with their English-language summary at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/uddi-spec/tcspecs.shtml#uddiv2.

The chairs are pleased to report that six OASIS organizational members have provided attestations with respect to successfully using UDDI V2, as required by the OASIS TC Process. In addition, the chairs are also pleased to report that there are at least five known implementations of the UDDI v2 Committee Specification each of which emanating from vendor organizations:

(e)     Public comments and resolutions

The UDDI v2 Committee Specifications where submitted for public comment to the OASIS and XML-Dev memberships (http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200302/msg00000.html) on 3 February 2003. No comments were received on either of the TC's public list. 

(f)     History of previous OASIS standardization attempts

There have been no past attempts to submit UDDI v2 for OASIS standardization.
