Subject: Information from an OASIS Board Candidate
From: "Scott McGrath" <>

Date: Thu, 19 Jun 2003 12:03:46 -0400
Voting Reps,
As a service to our
candidates and voting reps, OASIS forwards candidate provided information to
you, at their request. This is the third such message you have received
thus far, during the course of balloting.
We will forward any other
information provided as soon as practical. The OASIS balloting process
for Board elections provides you the opportunity to change your ballot up to
the close of balloting.

At the risk of sending email
that might be considered 'spam' (apologies in advance!), I'd like to pass on
two thoughts to those voting in the OASIS
elections:
1) Please make sure to vote
by the end of the day next Tuesday (24 June). In past years, we have had to
scramble around at the last minute to get the minimum number of voters to have
a valid election. Please don't assume others can make the decision!
2) Please vote to return me
to the board for another term. :-) HP believes strongly in the value of open
standards bodies and wants to provide time
(mine) to keep them alive
and strong. We've pushed hard for Royalty Free concepts in W3C and other
places, to move key standards approvals into OASIS TCs, and to strengthen the
standards body infrastructures. As your Treasurer for the past 2 years, I can
point to good progress in improving OASIS' financial status and ask that you
let me continue to do this important work at OASIS.
Thanks,
Jim
