Jay:

I have a question for you.  Since you did not mention ebXML explicitly, what
are your plans/views on harmonizing and continuing the work of ebXML alongside
WS?

Also - how do you plan to work with the multiple OASIS XML based vocabularies?
Will there be a push to harminize them at a data element level via the UN/CEFACT
Core Components Methodologies?

Respectfully submitted...

  -----------------------------------------------------------

  OASIS Members,

My apologies for the unsolicited e-mail, but I
wanted to inform you all of

 my sincere interest in being
elected to the OASIS Board of Directors and to

 pass on some late-breaking
news that isn't on my nomination web page.

On Monday, webMethods confirmed its leadership
role by announcing the final

 stage in its strategic plan
to provide customers with a 100 percent

 standards-based, non-proprietary
and vendor neutral Web services

 infrastructure.  At the core
of the announcement is this week's acquisition

of The Mind Electric and their
GLUE and "Web services Fabric" technologies.

Many of the OASIS WS-* technologies
play a critical role in this

 infrastructure.

Also, in my responses to the nomination questions
I indicate my support for

 more cooperation between the
related standards bodies.  With a webMethods

 colleague on the board of
WS-I and dozens of webMethods' technical

 contributors to WS-I, W3C
and OASIS working groups, I'm in an excellent

 position to assist OASIS in
any steps towards such deeper cooperation.  At

 webMethods, we're small enough
that the right hand *does* know what the left

 hand is doing.

I'd be happy to discuss any issues relevant to
OASIS with you further,

 either by phone or e-mail.

Thanks for considering me for the Board and don't
forget to vote!

  Jay Gauthier
