Statement of support for Jenny Menna

While there are many fine candidates standing for election (or re-election) to the board of directors of OASIS, I would like to direct your attention to a candidate whose name may be new to some of you - Jenny Menna. Jenny is the Senior
 VP and Cybersecurity Partnership Executive at U.S. Bank and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jenny on and off over the past seven years. I recruited Jenny to run for the board of directors of OASIS because I believe that she exemplifies the
 qualities we need in board members. 

 

While most of the work that goes on within OASIS TCs is, not surprisingly, technical in nature, the duties of an OASIS director are
different – they are to exercise oversight and implement governance of the organization and ensure that OASIS professional staff are executing their mission in accordance to the structures and policies that the board has defined. As such, Jenny possesses
 the requisite experience in non-profit governance, finance and policy that are the primary responsibilities for directors.  Jenny would also bring an important perspective to the OASIS board as a representative of a major financial institution that is a user/consumer
 of technical standards. And finally, Jenny understands the importance of collaboration and teamwork – her background and experience in leading and participating in numerous executive-level groups would be an extremely valuable asset on the board of directors
 of OASIS.
