Statement of Support for Sounil Yu's Candidacy for the OASIS Board of Directors

Dear Fellow OASIS member,

We are writing you to express our support for the candidacy of Sounil Yu, SVP and Chief Security Scientist at Bank of America, in the special election for the OASIS board of directors. While all three candidates are valuable members of  the OASIS standards community, we feel that Sounil is best suited at this time to serve as a director of OASIS. Central to our reasoning is Sounil’s organizational leadership track-record combined with his non-profit governance experience in two separate organizations.  While Sounil’s technical resume and experience as a technology innovator is impressive, it is important to note that the board of directors of OASIS is not a technical body, but rather is a governing body providing policy, legal, financial and strategic oversight  for the organization. In addition, we believe that it is important to continue to broaden the representation of major end-user organizations such as Bank of America on the board of directors. Sounil’s experience in collaborating with both industry and government  brings a valuable perspective to OASIS as we set strategy and policy in a changing landscape.
