Understanding availability
Assume a fixed have a sequence with a ramp up, a run, and a ramp down. The handle of the sequence points to the Run Time 15M 1H ç = (handle) 15M We need rules about what availability means. Here are mine. 1) Availability (as far as start) refers to the indicated interval only. If the availability begins at 9:00, then it is acceptable to receive a request at 9:00 (rather than at 9:15). Intervals before the Indicated Interval must be ignored for availability. (Principle of Minimal Knowledge). 2) I want to say the indicated Interval must fit w/I the Availability. If the availability ends at 11:00, then a start time as late as 10:00 is acceptable. Let’s look at another case 15M () ç = (handle) 15M 3) In this case the invoker must specifies Start and Run Time (duration). If the availability is (9:00 to 11:00), then (9:00 – 1H) , (10:00 – 1H) (9:30 – 1H15M) are all acceptable. (10:00 – 2H) is not. These rules feel pretty good for one scheduled interval. Let me try to break them: 1H ç = (handle) 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H 1H Here we have 12 consecutive 1 hour intervals. This might be a schedule of prices. Availability does not seem as important with this, which is publishing prices, that may not have negotiable start times. Still, an availability of 9-10, for the 12 hours from 9-9 seems a little odd. I think I can live with it, though.
