Hi,

Actually, for us, the partition along of
properties along the config/personalize axis makes a lot of sense, while the “final”
as you defined it does not.

(“final” seems illogical in
WSRP in general – until it is final, it is a normal property. Once it is
final, it is no longer a property, since we don’t consider read-only properties).

I'm not so confident that a portlet could reasonable
predict what properties want to be configured via config vs edit. I would
imagine the more useful definition would be to allow a property to be marked as
'final' (or the equivalent) to indicate that further clones are not permitted
to change the value. This would be quite flexible and put the control in the
hands of the person customizing the portlet (who hopefully has a good perspective
on how the clones will be used and therefore can make the right decisions about
further customizations).

Portlet properties
would also need to be partitioned along edit/config lines? Minimal, this would
aid the consumer in deciding if the property related to the edit or config
mode.
