Could any of our European colleagues
be available for participating on October 6? It sounds like this is an
effort to gather high-level folks to consider adopting OASIS stds for their
businesses. I would guess a derivative of the Interop demo + list of announced
vendor support by someone willing to address any questions would open eyes
in the manner we all would prefer. Any volunteers?

The leading standards organization, OASIS, is announcing the launch of
a

new e-business standards Forum this October to be held in Brussels, the

capital of Europe during the first week of October.   

 

The Call for Presentations is Now Open - Deadline for Submissions is 23

July 2004 --

 

The one-day Adoption Forum, designed for system integrators, end users

and those in public administration (governments), will demonstrate the

work underway in the e-business standards community. This event will

feature presentations that will enable organizations to learn about the

development and adoption of open standards in areas such as

localization, Web services implementation, e-Government, security and

reliability.

 

Main topics addressed at the Forum will include:

 

- The Importance of Open e-Business Standards - providing a forum to

allow a variety of view points on why standards are important to both

the end user and governmental communities. 

- Security and Reliability - reflecting on the Web security

vulnerabilities, assessment and protection options, and how information

security has become one of the most critical issues for business and

government today.

- Web Services Implementations - discussing real life case studies of

Web service implementation projects. 

- Localization Industry Practices - standard compliant solutions

designed to ease the exchange of localized information.
