Just to confirm: the section numbers show up properly for me in Word (note that Tim and I are using different versions of Word).

When I render Tim's 11/29/02 draft using StarOffice 6.0,
- Section 7 and all its sub-sections are shown as Section 13,
13.1, etc.
- Section 8 is shown as Section 14, but its sub-sections are
correctly numbered 8.1, etc.
- Section 9 is correctly numbered, indicating that StarOffice was
able to detect that two sections occurred between 6 and 9, even
though it displayed the numbers incorrectly.
When I render Simon's 12/3/02 draft using StarOffice 6.0,
- Section 5 and all its sub-sections are shown as Section 1, 1.1,
etc.
- Section 6 and all its sub-sections are shown as Section 2, 2.1,
etc.
- Still same problems with 7 and 8 as in Tim's draft
This MAY be a bug in StarOffice, but there may be a problem in
the way the sections are formatted that does not show up in MS
Word. Could you verify that at least the problems do not show up
in MS Word? Then, if you can check the formatting of the section
numbers to see if there is anything irregular that may be
confusing StarOffice, I would appreciate it.
