RE: [xdi] Please review the proposed charter revision
Title: Re: [xdi] Please review the proposed charter revision I am finding serious interest in SOA architectures implemented using services over non-HTTP/S mechanisms due to security, as well as survivability, requirements. There's a fair amount of work that I've seen using XMPP as the HTTP/S replacement in such a situation. With respect to RFCs I think you're right, haven't been much re:XMPP other than for IM, but the RFCs are only part of the story. XMPP is being used for many scenarios, one far out example being Google's VOIP. Google +JEP +XMPP for more info, or look at http://www.jabber.org/jeps/. =Bill.Barnhill From: Peter Davis [mailto:] Sent: Thu 11/3/2005 11:25 AM To: Drummond Reed; OASIS - XDI TC Subject: Re: [xdi] Please review the proposed charter revision I am curious, what use cases drive the need of an XMPP binding? The only RFC's wrt XMPP are stream-message oriented for instant messaging (+encryption). =peterd On 11/3/2005 1:26 AM, "Drummond Reed" <> wrote: > Per the minutes of today's unofficial call, all XDI TC members are asked to > review the proposed charter revision.
