Yesterday we'd a discussion about this and our common understanding was
that we definitely need this support in our applications. Therefore the
answer is yes, we plan to implement this feature. We'll be very happy to
share with you efforts and results! :-)
I put in CC interested people from Uroma2. Maybe we can have a skype call
{skype:giovanni.bartolomeo} to coordinate the work next week, what do you
think?

In XDI4j there is currently no mechanism for specifying or enforcing
constraints on the data inserted into an XDI database, so it would be
great to work with you on this. I'll try to commit our current code to
Higgins this week.
